At Inclusive Play we believe that the key to a successful play area is to ensure that the design allows for free flow of movement, for wheelchairs, pushchairs and all users so that they can all share in the experience.
- Level surfacing (not uneven)
- Additional space between pieces of equipment
- If gates must be used – ensure they are wide enough and suitable for all to open – making the gates a different (bright) colour from the rest of the fence can help children with visual impairments easily identify the exit and entry points
- Desire lines – obvious flow of movement round site
